Hoek Pauwelstraat-Houtmarkt:

Deze foto werd kort na het bombardement genomen vanuit een huis aan de Pauwelstraat - dit huis was op de twee vorige foto's al te zien en is nog duidelijker zichtbaar op de volgende foto (het tweede huis van rechts).
De ruïne midden op bovenstaande foto is van een hoog, statig herenhuis, waarin tussen 1850 en 1866 het Canisiusziekenhuis was gevestigd. Het was op de vorige foto links te zien.
De korte straat achter de ruïne is de Houtmarkt. De bebouwing aan deze straat ging in september 1944 geheel in vlammen op en bij de wederopbouw verdween de Houtmarkt. Rechtsboven ligt het Mariënburg.

This picture was taken shortly after the bombardment from a house in the Pauwelstraat - this house could already be seen in the last two photographs, and is even more clearly visible in the next photograph (the second house on the right).
The ruin in the middle of this picture is that of a high, stately mansion, which housed the Canisius hospital between 1850 and 1866. In the previous picture it could be seen on the left. The short street behind the ruins is the Houtstraat. The buildings along this street were reduced to ashes in the fires of September 1944, and in the reconstruction the Houtmarkt disappeared. Top right is the Mariënburg.
