Hoek Houtmarkt-Mariënburg:

Staand voor het Arsenaal aan het Mariënburg keek de fotograaf naar de verwoestingen aan de linkerzijde van de Houtmarkt. Daarachter, aan de Pauwelstraat, staan nog twee licht beschadigde huizen die weliswaar de oorlog overleefden, maar in de jaren '50 alsnog werden afgebroken.

The corner of Houtmarkt-Mariënburg:

Standing in front of the Arsenal on the Mariënburg, the photographer looked towards the devastations on the left-hand side of the Houtmarkt. Behind these, in the Pauwelstraat, two slightly damaged houses are still standing, which did survive the war, but were demolished in the 1950s after all.
