Verwoestingen in de binnenstad:

Een overzichtsfoto, genomen vanaf een pand aan de Doddendaal. Ter oriëntatie: de ruïnes, die op de voorgrond van de ansicht te zien zijn, hebben eind jaren '40 plaats gemaakt voor het 'centrumplein', ofwel Plein 1944. Linksboven is de Mariënburgkapel te herkennen, Helemaal rechtsboven staat de zwaar gehavende Sint-Canisiuskerk aan de Molenstraat.
